Why I do this
COP26, in 2021, made it clear to me that I wanted to take personal responsibility.
I started working with sustainability as a VP at a larger organisation. It worked for a while, but I quickly realised I wanted to do it my own terms. Independent of internal targets, expectations, communication tracks, and predefined methods. With room to say what I actually thought, and to do what actually worked.
That became SustainImpact.
Today, I work more broadly than sustainability alone. Business, digitalisation, and sustainability are three agendas best handled together, not separately. That's what I help leaders with.
The experience I bring
I have been a successful leader for many years, with responsibility for budgets, business targets, and demanding change programmes. I have led major turnarounds taking projects, departments, and business units from red numbers and unhappy customers to the opposite.
I have worked as a consultant and business leader across multiple sectors and countries. Selected examples:
- Implementation of customer and billing systems in telecom and utilities
- Hospital booking systems in the public healthcare sector
- Customer- and revenue platforms for German and Hungarian telecom operators
- Digital programmes for German and UK media companies
- Operational systems for a Scandinavian ferry operator
- Leadership of Denmark's national energy data hub — critical infrastructure for the entire Danish electricity system
- Onboarding systems and investment platforms for the financial sector
That breadth has taught me to quickly understand new businesses, industries, leadership paradigms, regulations, and the ever-changing IT and AI landscape.
I hold a degree in computer science and take pride in being able to understand even the most complex digital solutions and to challenge suppliers on theirs.
What truly motivates me is solving hard problems. I love translating complexity into simple actions that are easy to communicate. Almost always, it comes down to people, like understanding stakeholders, listening to those who don't usually get heard, and finding the angle that brings everyone on board. That's where the key to success is most often buried.
At CGI, I worked intensively with sustainability and was named one of their global experts in the field, with a focus on leadership and digitalisation. I also hold a Mini-MBA in Sustainability and have deep working knowledge of Double Materiality Assessments, CSRD, and VSME. That foundation travels with me — but today I apply it more broadly, in contexts where business, digitalisation, and sustainability need to come together as one plan.
Independent advisory
I am independent and not just in the legal sense. It means I advise free of internal targets, supplier relationships, sales quotas, and predefined methodologies. I work with the approach I judge to be right for you not the one that fits a standard package.
It also means I will end an engagement if I conclude that's the right answer. I have done it before, and I have references for it.
Trust is the most important thing I have to offer. I protect it.
